A SMALL BUSINESS ECOSYSTEM
A SMALL BUSINESS ECOSYSTEM
The "Stand Outs" are Collaborating!
Small local businesses are continually losing market share to large corporations and franchises. The resources of the large corporations make it hard for small business to compete.
What is missing is the piece to the puzzle of small local business that allows a level playing field against the large corporations and franchises.
...and put the missing pieces together to the puzzle of Small Business Ownership.
SMALLOCAL is in its infancy. If you are a small business owner, are passionate about your business, your staff, and your customers, then please join the journey in creating a community of like-minded owners who want to grow, prosper, and give back to those who support them.
... please pause the natural comparison mechanism that is innate in all of us. Often, when describing SMALLOCAL to others, the first response is an "Oh it's like..." comparison to another business model. Fortunately, SMALLOCAL is unlike any other business in its entirety, yet similar to many businesses in its individual parts. For this reason, SMALLOCAL is a Small Business Ecosystem.
1. Small Business Owners: The businesses that exemplify Pride Of Ownership with a hands-on owner that wants to grow their business through the knowledge gained by camaraderie with like-minded professionals and a structured Word Of Mouth program through membership.
2. Discriminating Consumers: The consumer that values originality over mass production, or personal connection over being a number, or credible testimonials over manipulated online reviews, or the sense of community in knowing that generated income and taxation gained by the local business will stay in the local area and not sent to large corporate offices elsewhere.
THE GOLDEN TICKET!
There are no applications. A member is asked to join by another member. A prospective business owner will receive a GOLDEN TICKET by a sponsoring member. A PHYSICAL ticket, not a digital image of one!
Chosen businesses are those that demonstrate Pride of Ownership, are Community Minded, Customer Service is of utmost importance, and the owner is present in the business.
In this early stage, the initial members will be instrumental in defining the desired characteristics of the future members.
A magazine themed website with curated and member created articles regarding small business. A password protected member login that opens to a "Diagon Alley" for small business. A Marketplace of member services, A Community of Communities broken down into business type and geographic regions. Topics regarding HR, Accounting, Marketing, Insurances, and anything else related to ownership can be discussed with others who are currently working and dealing with same issues. Member created courses (member revenue stream). Knowledge gained and friendships created. Endless possibilities!
As individuals, a small business owner's influence can only go so far. A worldwide collective of small business owners will enormously influence decision makers in times of possible lockdowns when choosing which businesses may remain open and those who cannot. Local and regional collective buying power on certain goods that can match the wholesale pricing of large corporations, thus creating more net profit.
Most consumers want to choose local small businesses. Yet, they may lean toward the large corporate business as these are familiar through advertising and consistent through multiplication. Discerning consumers understand that online reviews can easily be maniplulated so their credibility is questionable. Knowing that a business has been chosen by their peers because of their professionalism, passion, and integrity will weigh more favorably in the mind of a desired demographic.
A Business Directory themed website and app listing the SMALLOCAL member businesses. The site has ONLY member businesses. Each member will also have a page exclusive to their business. The listings will be according to geographic address or main service area of business. There WILL NOT be public generated reviews of businesses. There WILL BE other members providing testimonials of each others businesses.
Each geographic area will have "Master Mind" meetings where members can meet, in person, and discuss business, current local issues, and foster the COLLABORATIVE CAMARADERIE
There is no geographic exclusivity. SMALLOCAL is for small local businesses that have Pride of Ownership, are Passionate about what they do, and Confident in what their business has to offer. The only competitors SMALLOCAL businesses have are the large corporations or franchises. We are to welcome and support all small local businesses, even those of the same business type as our own.
Individual SMALLOCAL podcasts focusing on the businesses in certain geographic areas. A member will be the host and SMALLOCAL will assist in the production. Each podcast of an individual business will have the audio file embedded onto their landing page on THINKSMALLOCAL.COM so consumers can get to know each business in a more indepth manner.
Currently, we are in a time in history where business owners are either Native Analog's or Native Digital's. This references an age, usually 35 years old. The older are accustomed to more of a "Brick and Mortar" business model, and the younger has been raised in more "Online" model. SMALLOCAL will be a bridge between both modalities so that each business will be a "Complete Package" and optimize earning potential.
The SMALLOCAL concept is huge. There is a saying, "Go Big, or Go Home". There is much more that will be continually added. If any of this is appealing to you, please contact us, we'd love to talk!
Again, welcome to SMALLOCAL, and join the journey if you are interested.
Malcolm Gladwell, The Tipping Point
Why the megaphone? The best form of marketing is Word of Mouth. We are a network of business owners that speak enthusiastically about one another. And the customers will come to speak enthusiastically about ALL SMALLOCAL members.
Each SMALLOCAL business will receive stickers to promote their membership as they desire. Also, each business will receive a digital file of logos to use in their own marketing.
"Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The Troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do."
" Let's go crazy
Let's get nuts
Let's look for the purple banana
Until they put us in the truck, let's go"
